*L.D Hospital employee tested positive for coronavirus*

Srinagar, 02 May, CNS: A Health department employee, working as nursing orderly in Lal Ded (LD) Maternity hospital Srinagar, tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. The development has come as a shock and matter of great concern for the hospital to the administration, which has sent a dozen of its staff for preventive quarantine.

According to CNS, the employee working as nursing orderly in valley’s largest maternity hospital in government sector, was not keeping well for last three weeks and was not attending his duty; however had recently visited hospital for few minutes, due to which around a dozen of officials, who came into his contact have been sent for quarantine , as a preventive measure, officials said.

The nursing orderly, who is actually from Jammu, was been posted at L D Hospital for last 5 years and was putting up at Solina, where he was living in tenancy.

Since he was ill with corona like symptoms, he was asked to stay home in Solina and his hi s  samples were sent to CD Hospital lab, on 16th April and the reports had come negative in the first round, said the officials.

As his conditions did not improve, he was again tested, where his reports came positive for COVOD-19, the officials said. (CNS)
