GMC Anantnag Hands over COVID positive body of a female to the family for burial mistakenly,
Hundreds participate in her last rites
In one more case of medical negligence reported from Anantnag, the hospital administration at GMC Anantnag has handed over the body of a deceased lady to her relatives for last rites some three days ago.
As per local sources, the body of this 60-year-old lady was handed over to the family for burial following which she was reported positive for coronavirus after three days of her death.
Locals now say that hundreds of people have attended her last rites and there is every possibility of the virus having been transmitted to the people who attended her mourning, and last rites.
"She died on July 10th and her body was handed over to the family as a non-COVID patient, making hundreds of local residents and her relatives visit the bereaved family. Hundreds also attended her namaz-e-Janazah and afterward she was tested positive three days after her death. The hospital administration has risked the lives of hundreds of people and they should be punished for this gross negligence," said a local.
