First batch of COVID Vaccine Reaches Kashmir: Officials

Jammu and Kashmir on Monday received first batch of its COVID-19 vaccine on Monday. Officials added that 1st dose will be given to health care workers.
 He added that Vaccination will be started on 16th January across the India for & also in J&K for which health department has already done ground work and mock drills. 

Officials told CNS that 2.5 lakh vaccines reached Kashmir on Monday, however, as traffic has been suspended along Srinagar-Jammu highway so it may be take one day more in reaching here. 

More vaccines are expected in coming weeks, which would be used to vaccinate after this lot. 

It is pertinent to mention that the first phase of the drive will cover 30 crore people in India.
