👉🏽 Ukraine says at least 1,170 civilians have been killed in Mariupol since the start of the war. 47 were buried in a mass grave yesterday.

đź“Ś Mariupol is encircled. The city has been without water, heat, functioning sanitation systems or phone connections for the past week, with bodies lying uncollected on the streets and residents relying on streams or melting snow for drinking water. “It’s medieval”, the city’s mayor said on Wednesday.

🇷🇺 Russia had said it would hold fire to let thousands of civilians flee Mariupol and other besieged cities on Wednesday, but air strikes on the hospital mark yet another instance when Russia has violated its own ceasefire assurances.

🇺🇦 “Russian bombs fell on a children hospital and maternity hospital in Mariupol…Today is the day that defines everything. It defines who is on which side.”—Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy
