Irregular power supply during Ramadan irks people in Kashmir

Srinagar, 07-Apr, CNS: Tall claims of administration to facilitate the people in the holy month of Ramadan have fallen flat as Power Department has made a routine of giving power cuts even at the time of Sehri and Iftaar timings.
Reports received by CNS suggested that almost all the places in the Kashmir valley are reeling under darkness during iftaar and sehri from the day the month of Ramadan started.
“Power cuts in Kashmir are nothing new, but have never seen such worst and frequent cuts in the holy month of Ramadan especially during Sehri and Iftaar. I hope the Lt Governor’s administration will ensure electricity at least now for last 14 days of this holy month,” said Nazir Ahmad, a resident of Srinagar.
According to news agency CNS, people can be seen displaying their anger on different social media platforms over the non-availability of basic amenities like electricity at these auspicious times. "What is the use of this facility when we can't benefit from it at the most important times?", questioned a netizen in a comment over a post. Many other angry internet users also showed dismay over the non-serious attitude of the government towards providing the facility of electricity to the citizens of 'Naya Kashmir'.
"The Power Department has made it a point to let people suffer particularly at Sehri and after Iftaar", a Facebook user angrily posted.
The power cuts have irked the citizens as the holy month of Ramadan is going on and people are particularly busy in the pre-dawn and at dusk periods of the day when electricity is a necessity. The people have urged LG administration to take some serious steps and provide them with basic amenities during this month. (CNS)
