Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari: Blood donation camp held in G’bl

Ishfaq Jabbar, Khalid Jahangir among hundreds donate blood 

Srinagar,CNS, 10 Sep: On the eve of Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Qamaruddin Bukhari (RAH) Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Jabbar Foundation on Saturday organised a blood donation camp here at Ganderbal.

The camp was organised by Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar,  Ex MLA Ganderbal and Founder Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Jabbar Foundation in the memory of Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Jabbar (EX MLA Ganderbal) and Sheikh Gh Mohd (Ex defence director).

DDC Chairperson Ganderbal Nuzhat Ishfaq along with Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shymbir Sing (IAS) and SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar (IPS) inaugurated the blood donation camp.

To motivate the youth towards the blood donation, both the dignitaries namely Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar and Khalid Jahangir donated blood during their visit to the camp. About 100 volunteers donated blood.

Emphasizing the relevance of such camps, Jabbar said, “Blood donation camps have been a regular feature of Shaheed Sheikh Jabbar Foundation but due to the pandemic we were not able to conduct them for the last 2 years. We plan to organize at least 1 blood donation camp every year as blood is a vital resource that can only be donated and not manufactured”.

Mr Jabbar said that the path shown by the Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Jabbar is reaping fruits today.

“Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Jabbar in his whole life has fought for the rights and dignity of people. He always feels that the sense of sacrifice and courage should be inculcate among the youth for the future of our State,” Jabbar said, while remembering his father Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Jabbar.

Jabbar said that since there is already a deficit of requisite quantity of blood required by patients, the ongoing resulted in acute shortage of blood, therefore contributing to address this issue the  Foundation decided to hold such blood donation camps.
Ishfaq motivated the youth to come forward as blood donation is like giving another life to somebody because there is no alternative to blood. He also said that it is world’s greatest charity. He said that blood donation save many lives. He urged the people to participate in this noble cause and donate their blood.

Ishfaq also expressed gratitude to administration and youth's of Shaheed Sheikh Jabbar Foundation for making this blood donation camp a success.(CNS)
